George Lopez’s rant against presumptive GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney blasted the former governor in a stand-up comedy routine during his recent HBO special. Romney’s father was born in Mexico according to Mitt Romney’s birth certificate. This of course would have made him ineligible for the Presidency as was raised by Democrats during his 1968 campaign but Lopez said it makes Romney a Chicano.
In perhaps a sign that President Obama’s decision to suspend the deportation of undocumented immigrants who were brought the United States as children is paying off, Lopez blasted Romney for denying his Mexican heritage and said Latinos will not vote for him.
“Mitt Romney wants the Latino vote. He ain't going to get it. He ain't going to get it. And you know why? Because Mitt Romney is a f-ing Latino and he won't admit it,” Lopez yelled out. “His father was born in Chihuahua, Mexico. Mitt Romney is a Chicano.”
Lopez also blasted embattled Arizona sheriff Joe Arpaio who is fighting a battle against the U.S.justice department for racial profiling of Latinos.
“While we’re at it Sheriff Joe in Arizona f-you” exclaimed the comedian.
Perhaps wanting to lay low on the issue of his family connection to the Mexican Mormon polygamist compound his family started so they could openly practice polygamy, the Romney camp has yet to respond to the remarks.
Failing perhaps to realize that the comments were part of a comedy routine or anger by the digg at him, Arpaio in his usual bully like manner dared the comedian to "Get some guts, come down here and meet me face to face. Let's see how you act then,”
